Selecting Pasta |
| |
Pasta can be found dried and fresh, but can also be homemade. There are hundreds
of pasta shapes in many flavors found throughout the world.
When making easy pasta recipes be sure to choose a pasta shape and sauce that complement each
other.
Thin pastas should be served with light, thin sauces. Thin pasta shapes include: Angel hair,
capellini, chitarra, fedelini, spaghetti, and vermicelli.
Thick pasta shapes work well with heavier sauces. Thick pasta shapes include: Fettucine, linguine,
lasagna, and mafaldine.
Pasta shapes with holes or ridges are perfect for chunkier sauces. Bocconcini, cannelloni,
manicotti are a few examples.
